Another interesting thing about the offensive strategy was that USC moved their tight end to the left side of the formation next to Matt Kalil (#75).  He is our best blocking tackle and next O lineman that will be taken in the first round whenever he comes out.  We hope it is next year.  ND really did not pick up on that and we ran behind him most of the game and he was pulverizing their defensive lineman.  I did not chart it but I would guess that 150 of the 200 yards rushing were to the left side  of the center.  It was quite amazing to watch and ND did not flip flop their people to match up better with Kalil.  When I was coaching we always tried to match up with our best personnel on their best.  The last TD USC scored was against a new defensive back that was just sent into the game and SC put Robert Woods on him….good job Lane! I am beginning to be a believer!
